CELLINI SPIRAL BRACELET

October 24, 2009 is the next Westbank meeting.

The project is an even-count peyote Cellini Spiral
and the instructor is Jean Perret

Material List:

Size 15 Delicas
Size 11 Round Seed Beads
Size 8 Round Seed Beads
Clasp
Beading thread
Size 12 needle

NOTE: The bracelet can be completed with the spiral as shown in the middle section of the bracelet. If you choose to finish it like the picture, additional materials will be needed as follows:

10 inches 20 gauge craft wire
3mm crystals
4 mm crystals
2 bead caps

We will meet at 3730 Mac Arthur Blvd., New Orleans (Algiers), LA from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please keep in mind that this project will not be completed in class.

Kits will be made if you order in advance no later than October 20, 2009, and I will only be able to do a very small number. The cost will be $10.00.

TREASURE BOX PENDANT AND NECKLACE

Treasure Box Pendant Necklace


Instructor is Vicki


Materials needed:


Thread, Nymo, Fireline, or any strong thread, even button/carpet thread
Needle to accommodate thread (#12)
Jewelry glue to set the cabs--Hypo cement or E-6000


NOTE: Deadline is September 18 for ordering custom kits and for letting Vicki know you will attend the class. Also, there will be no extra kits available, so let Vicki know if you plan on attending. There is a lot of work that goes into preparing the boxes for the class. They will be completely sanded, painted, stamped and ready to bead.

If you have a special color preference you would like, let Vicki know and she’ll put together a custom kit for you. This deadline is also September 18.

NOTE: HOLES WILL BE PUNCHED IN THE BOX SO THAT YOU CAN WEAR IT AS A NECKLACE. IF YOU PREFER NO HOLES, PLEASE LET VICKI KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BUT NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE OF SEPTEMBER 18.

Time: 12:30 to 3 p.m. If you need a little extra time, we will begin at 12:30 and can go a little longer if needed.


Cost of kits: $12-$19, depending on the type of beads selected.

Cost of class is $12.00.

FLOWERS AND VINES EARRINGS

Our New Orleans Bead Society - Westbank meeting will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. at Love Lutheran Church, 3730 McArthur Blvd.

This month's project is a Flowers and Vines pair of earrings designed by Jean Perret.

The material list is:

Small supply of size 11 seed beads in four colors:
Color a - light pink
Color b - white
Color c - red
Color d - green
Glass leaves

4mm crystals for center and earring loops
Ear wires or posts with loops
Size 12 needle
Beading thread or fireline (recommended)

The class will cost $12.00 and if anyone needs a kit, please let me know at jbperret@aol.com.

I will have a few strands of the glass leaves for $3.00 each.

April 25th and May 23rd Meeting

Our project will be instructed by May Wong, who will teach a smocked fish.



Our class project for this month is a two-part class and will cover the months of April and May.

Because this is a specialized class, all kits will be furnished for $ 10. There will NOT be a material list.

Reservations need to May at mkwmkw49@cox.net so that enough kits are available for everyone.

Everything you need is included in the kit. The only thing you will need is scissors. The fee in Apr is $10 for the kit and $12 for the class. In May there will just be the class fee of $7.

We will learn to smock in April and in May we will construct the fish. Homework from the April meeting will be to finish the smocking and to decorate with your own beads if desired.

Instructions to complete the fish will be in the kit.
